The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Aberdeen U18 captain Connor Barron on a loan deal ahead of the new season.

The central midfielder featured on the bench for Aberdeen’s first team last season and was recently rewarded with a new two year deal at Pittodrie after a string of impressive showings at youth level.

Last season he led his side to the top of the Club Academy Scotland U18 League and the SFA Youth Cup Final after 17 wins, one draw and only one loss - chipping with in with 13 goals from midfield.

Also capped by Scotland at youth level, Connor will look to further his development at Glebe Park. Connor will join up with the squad ahead the pre-season friendly against Montrose FC at Links Park tomorrow.

Manager Mark Wilson commented, "Connor is someone that I saw back in January when we played in a bounce game against Aberdeen and I thought Connor was man of the match.

"He is a small figure in the middle of the park but he controlled the game and his energy and willingness to get on the ball to start play was something that caught my eye - so much so that I commented to him after the game about how I enjoyed his performance.

"I've heard great things from every person I've spoken to - from Barry Robson and Paul Hartley to our Sports Scientist Seamus (McCafferty) who has worked with him at international level throughout the years.

"He is someone that Aberdeen FC have high hopes for and I hope we can give him the platform for him to flourish and get a number of games under his belt."
