Former Bino Geddes has started the season well.
Stirling Albion are the visitors to Glebe Park tomorrow afternoon for the second league match of the season.
Stirling haven’t made the best of starts to the campaign with a 3-1 defeat at home against Ayr Utd last Saturday, and this was followed up with an embarrassing 3-0 defeat at the hands of 3rd division Dumbarton on Tuesday evening in the CIS Cup. However, Allan Moore and his troops will be eager to kick start their season with a win up at Glebe Park.
City meanwhile, have enjoyed a decent start to the season, recording a point up at Peterhead and progressing to the 2nd round of the CIS Cup after a 2-1 victory against full timers Greenock Morton at Glebe Park. City manager Michael O’Neill has been delighted with the effort and commitment shown by the players in the past two matches and hopes that this will continue into the match tomorrow.
City and Stirling served up some of the most entertaining matches in the second division two seasons ago with some very high scoring games. Stirling cruised to a 3-0 victory at Glebe Park earlier in that season but City went on to win the remaining three matches between the sides, scoring 12 goals. 5-1, 5-3 and 2-1 were the scorelines.
Richard Walker, who scored City’s equaliser up at Peterhead last Saturday, is set to play some of the game. Steven Hampshire is still out with a knee injury while Charlie King (Thigh), Gary Bollan (Calf) and skipper Steven Ferguson (Broken Leg) are also sidelined.
Meanwhile, Stirling are hoping that Colin Cramb, Mark McNally and Sean Roycroft are all fit to play. Stewart Devine is a severe doubt while Paul Nugent is still recovering from a long term injury.
City's most likely front two pairing of Chris Geddes and Paddy Connolly both used to play for the Bino's and will be plotting their former employee's downfall tomorrow afternoon. Both players have started the season off very well, with Geddes opening his account for the season on Tuesday night after his well taken strike against Morton.
Kick off for this match is 3pm. The referee will be Craig Mackay and he will be assisted by Gary Cheyne and Roddy Cobb. City fans are being urged to get behind the side and cheer them on to what we hope will be our first league win of the season.
