Barry Callaghan
Very few players have gone through the exit door at Glebe Park this summer with most of the staff signing new deals, however, two players have left the club in defender Scott Walker and the versatile Barry Callaghan.
Michael O'Neill was interested in keeping Scott on for another year, but he was offered a more lucrative deal at Ayr United and has decided to take on a fresh challenge at Somerset Park. Scott joined Brechin from Hartlepool in the summer of 2004 and the big man has been almost ever present in the heart of defence since. However, if he was to stay at the Glebe he would be facing stiff competition from John Ward and Davie White for a starting place.
Barry Callaghan joined the club from Dundee United last summer but failed to stake a regular place in the first team. He only made 4 appearances, 2 as a substitute, during the season but the club would like to wish him and Scott all the best in their future careers, other than against Brechin of course!
