Brechin gained sweet revenge for their Challenge Cup defeat 11 days ago with a convincing League Cup victory.

The visitors got a deserved goal in the 44th minute when Twigg spun in the box and rifled a low shot into the net.

Paul McManus headed just over the bar for Fife after the break, before City's David White powered in a header from Byers' corner in the 65th minute.

The third came in the 74th minute, John Ward repeating the trick, heading in another Byers' corner via the post.
