Match Report - By John Hoey
619 fans turned out at Glebe Park last night to salute City's longest-serving player Charlie King in his Testimonial game against Rangers.
Charlie who was badly injured in a closed-dooor game last week took to the field just prior to kick-off accompanied by his wife and two young daughters to a thoroughly deserved ovation from the players and supporters of both sides.
The game itself was an entertaining one and played in good spirit throughout.
City took the lead in the 8th minute when a deflected shot from Craig Molloy from just within the box left Rangers keeper Grant Adam stranded but the Gers equalised in the 17th minute when Rory Loy powered home a header from a John Fleck corner.
Both sides went all out for victory in the second-half but the winning goal proved to be elusive.
City fans were delighted when former players Darren Smith, Marc Millar, Grant Johnston, Martyn Fotheringham came on as substitutes in the second-half and their appearances added to what was a most enjoyable night's entertainment.
