Brechin City closed the gap on fourth placed Stranraer to just four points after a comfortable and deserved home victory against East Fife this afternoon.

Former Fifer Bobby Barr opened the scoring after 27 minutes when he fired home a right-foot drive from just within the penalty-box and Andy Jackson doubled City's lead four minutes before the break when he drilled a low shot into the bottom corner of the net and Robert Thomson making his Glebe Park debut made it 3-0 after 63 minutes when he picked up the ball wide on the left and superbly lobbed Fifers keeper Greg Paterson to make it an emphatic home victory.
