Falkirk Preview - By John Hoey

City fans will be eagerly looking forward to tomorrow's opening competitive fixture against Falkirk at the Glebe in the first round of the Ramsdens Cup

City have been playing well in their pre-season games and completed their preparations with a thumping 6-0 victory against Polock on Tuesday night with goals from Paul McManus (2), Jim Lister (2), Derek Carcary and Neil Janczyk.

Manager Jim Weir has been pleased witrh the way his side have been playing but isn't underestimating the difficulty of the task tomorrow.

" I've been very happy with the way the lads have performed pre-season. The new players we've brought to the club have gelled extremely well and I feel that we have a better squad in terms of depth for the campaign ahead, particularly in the front area of the side where we've added a number of players."

" We've still got a relatively small squad and we'll be looking perhaps bring one other player in which would give us a squad of around 18."

" Hopefully we can ride our luck this year in terms of injuries and suspensions and if we can do that I feel that we can look forward to a good season."

" We start off with a very hard game against Falkirk. We've had them watched during the pre-season games and the reports I've received indicate that they have been playing extremely well so we know that our task will be difficult tomorrow."

" However, my philosophy is to go out and try to win every game and I can assure everyone that the players will be giving their all tomorrow in an effort to get us off to a winning start."

The manager will have a virtually full-strength squad from which to choose his team.

Craig Molloy is expected to be fit again after picking up an injury but Craig Nelson misses out because of suspension, so David Scott will deputise in goal.
