The Brechin City Under 19 team lost by 3-1 this afternoon against Dumbarton at the Strathclyde Homes Stadium.

The young Sons dominated the opening 45 minutes but City grabbed a shock lead on the stroke of half-time when defender Jack Syme headed home a Matty Adam cross.

Dumbarton continued to to press in the opening stages of the second-half and they got their reward when a Lyden shot from just within the penalty area to beat City keeper Ben Tough two minutes into the re-start.

Nicoll for Dumbarton scored a further goal three minutes later after a mix-up in the City defence.

Tough in the City goal brought off a couple of good saves as the half progressed but the Sons wrapped up the points with a quarter of an hour remaining when a Pearson cross was headed home by Ramage.

The City team was : - Tough, Anderson, Potter, Duffy, Syme, Gray, Adam, Scott, Walker, Keillor and Fertacz.
