MATCH PREVIEW

City will play the first of two successive home fixtures when Stenhousemuir come calling at the Glebe this Saturday.

The Warriors provided the opposition in the first league game of the season at Glebe Park way back on August 6th when City won by 2-0, with two late goals from David McKenna and Paul McManus clinching victory, and at Ochilview on 22nd October the honours were shared with a Sean Dickson goal for the home side five minutes before half-time cancelling out a 29th minute penalty from Charlie King.

City know that a victory on Saturday will take them to within one point of the Warriors who presently sit in third position in the Second Division table and a win would really set the team up for next Saturday’s Angus derby against Arbroath.

City boss Jim Weir has a few injury problems ahead of the game.

Derek Carcary, who broke an arm in a training accident last Thursday night will definitely miss out while Bryan Hodge is rated as doubtful. Gerry McGlauchlan who had to come off early in the first-half at Strathclyde Homes Stadium is also in the doubtful category but Jim Lister is fit and will come back into consideration for a place in the starting line-up.

Stenhousemuir manager Davie Irons welcomes back top scorer Andy Rodgers into the squad after suspension but midfielder Eric Paton's chances are put at no more than 50-50.
