This will be Mr Richmond’s first Brechin City game this season.
He has refereed only one Brechin game in the last two and a bit seasons and that was last year on Tuesday February 1st against Livingston at the Braidwood Motor Company Stadium which was the week preceding our Scottish Cup tie at Buckie. Livingston inflicted our first away league defeat of the season that evening and on the night, Mr Richmond issued three yellow cards to each team and sent off Rory McAllister and Gerry McGlauchlan.

MATCH PREVIEW
Brechin will enter this game on the back of two victories, the first against Stirling Albion last Saturday followed by a hard-fought win against Stenhousemuir at Glebe Park on Tuesday night. The 1-0 win against the Warriors certainly took a very heavy toll on the players with David McClune and Ewan Moyes both sustaining injuries in that game which renders them unavailable for tomorrow’s match. In addition Jim Lister will be missing after picking up an injury in the pre-match warm up. Derek Carcary is out long-term while Gerry McGlauchlan and Charlie King are still not ready for first-team action. Mick Dunlop had to sit out on Tuesday night after picking up a knock against the Binos and it will be a last-minute decision as to whether he plays or not.
Given the scale of City’s injury list, manager Jim Weir has been trying hard to bring in a player/players under the emergency loan arrangements and remains hopeful that he’ll have some success on that front before Saturday’s game.
Cowdenbeath will be missing player-boss Colin Cameron, and defenders Thomas O’Brien and David Cowan. Scott Linton is suspended and striker Lewis Coult who burst an eardrum in the 1-1 draw against Stirling on Tuesday night may be a doubt.
The sides have met twice this season with each side winning their home match. On 13th August at Central Park, the Blue Brazil ran out 3-1 winners. Mark Ramsay opened the scoring for the hosts early in the first-half with Garry Brady equalising for City just before the break. However, two second-half goals from Marc McKenzie and Jordon Morton sealed Cowden’s win. In the return game at the Glebe on 29th October, a Charlie King goal seven minutes into the second-half wrapped up the points for City.
