Irn Bru “Cans for Youths” Promotion



Sponsors of The Scottish Football League, Irn Bru recently announced the results of their Cans for Youths promotion, which saw SFL teams encouraging their fans to collect empty branded drinks cans to raise funds for youth football.



Brechin City FC actively participated in the campaign, and The Club want to formally thank all City supporters who contributed to the total number of 2077 cans. This saw City contribute a larger amount than several larger population centres including Berwick and Forfar, as well as SPL Newcomers Ross County and quite incredibly, Dundee. Speaking on behalf of the Club’s Management Committee, Grant Hood said, “We wish to publicly thank all supporters who supported this campaign, and the numerous businesses and organisations around the town who acted as Irn Bru drop-off points. In particular, we’d like to acknowledge the active contributions from The Stables Lounge, Brechin Arms, Hudsons and Brechin Golf Club.”



Hamilton Accies won a closely fought First Division race ahead of Ayr Utd, whereas there were runaway winners in both the Second and Third Divisions with top prizes going to Stenhousemuir and Alloa Athletic respectively. Full details can be viewed on www.phenomenalfooty.com .
