Delson Confirmed As Main Sponsor - By Webmaster

The Management Committee at Brechin City today announce a new club main sponsorship agreement with prominent Angus company, Delson. This will play a significant part in the Club’s quest to challenge at the forefront of part-time professional football in Scotland. Initially a 2-year contract, this was announced to the Club’s season ticket holders at their recent AGM. Exact details of the new deal remain undisclosed, although this initiative has allowed the Club to develop a new and exclusive executive lounge facility to operate alongside the popular existing 1983 Hospitality Lounge.

It’s a case of 'renewing old acquaintances' as Delson previously sponsored the club from 2003 to 2005, and this will once again see the Delson brand displayed on Brechin City’s playing kits. Based in Forfar, Delson is a long- established, successful and well known civil engineering contractor employing 40 staff.

The Club can also confirm that this arrangement allows for the continuation of a successful relationship with existing charity partner Cancer Research UK, the logo of which has been proudly displayed on playing kits for the last 2 years. The CR logo will now transfer to the players' shorts. Local Financial Management company Ferguson Oliver will continue as shirt sponsors with their brand featuring on the back of players tops.

Brechin City Chairman, Ken Ferguson said:

"It is with great pleasure that Brechin City welcomes back Delson as the Club's main sponsor. Delson is respected as a strong and extremely successful company, attributes that match well with the ambitions at the Club. The players are proud to display the Delson logo on our shirts and everyone associated with the Club looks forward to working with Mr Bruce Stott and his colleagues in the seasons ahead. On behalf of the officials, players and fans I extend our grateful thanks to Bruce for stepping forward and agreeing to support the Club especially during these austere times."

Delson Managing Director, Bruce Stott said:

"I’m personally delighted to renew this sponsorship at Brechin City Football Club. In common with most companies Delson has gone through a period of change over the last few years, as we adjust to an ever changing economic climate. We felt it was important to openly demonstrate that Delson Contracts remain very active in terms successfully tendering for, and successfully delivering, new project work."

Brechin City Manager, Jim Weir said:

"It’s cracking news for everyone associated with The Club. Brechin City is well known and respected throughout wider footballing circles as being an exceptionally well run Club. At a time when sound financial management in Scottish professional football is more crucial than ever, this news is a huge vote of confidence in those who manage the current and future well-being of the club. This investment in Brechin City FC doesn’t just help re-enforce the financial infrastructure, but it should hopefully send a clear message to the local supporters that they have a Club to be proud of. Equally, Brechin City deserves the fullest possible support of the local business community, and I’d hope that this entices a few more local businesses to find ways to support The Club."

Brechin City Commercial Manager, Grant Hood said:

"Coming on the back of a hugely turbulent summer for Scottish Football, this is proud news for everyone associated with Brechin City FC. I suspect there won’t be too many announcements of significant sponsorship investments around the country at the moment. It sits well alongside our existing Cancer Research connection, as it will allow our charity partner to continue to benefit from future Club fundraising initiatives. With the high profile Ramsdens Cup-Tie against Rangers creating an excitement around The Club, the timing really couldn’t be better. Hopefully this will encourage more companies to more formally associate themselves with Brechin City."
