East Fife Preview - By John Hoey

BRECHIN CITY – EAST FIFE PREVIEW

City boss Jim Weir doesn’t have his problems to seek ahead of tomorrow’s match against East Fife at the Glebe.

In addition to Alan Trouten, Paul McLean will also miss the match after picking up an ankle injury at Stenhousemuir last weekend and there are doubts also about Gerry McGlauchlan, Ewan Moyes and Johnny Brown although the manager is hoping that all three will be in their usual places.

On a positive note, Derek Carcary managed to train this week, and provided there is no reaction, Del should come into contention for a place in the starting line-up which will be a huge boost, as his pace on the left side of the park has been badly missed.

City were extremely unfortunate to come away from Ochilview last Saturday with nothing to show for their efforts, and supporters will be hoping for a repeat of the second-half performance against the Warriors.

East Fife manager Gordon Durie is still recovering at home from after collapsing at the end of the game against Queen of the South last weekend and he will miss the trip to the Glebe. Fifers Secretary Jim Stevenson says that the manager is making good progress and it is hoped that he will soon be back in the Bayview hot-seat. In the meantime, former Dundee and Dundee United manager Gordon Chisholm will take the reigns for tomorrow’s game. The Fifers who opened their league campaign with a 1-1 draw at newly promoted Alloa followed this up with a home point against Queen of the South last Saturday.

Chisholm will enter the game without the services of midfielders Craig Johnstone and Collin Samuel who are both injured but former City defender David White will return to the squad after suspension.

Tomorrow’s match officials are : -
