Forfar Athletic v Brechin City Preview
Station Park - Saturday 15th September 2012
Both sets of fans will be looking forward to the first City-Loons clash of the season.
City will travel the short distance to Station Park with a fully-fit squad at manager Jim Weir's disposal with both Paul McLean and Gerry McGlauchlan having recovered from the injuries that saw them miss the home clash with Alloa a fortnight ago.
Influential midfielder Mark McCulloch will be missing for the Loons and there is a doubt about former Arbroath midfielder Keith Gibson while former City favourite Charlie King faces a late fitness test.
Both manager's will be keen to get a derby victory under their belts and both sets of supporters will be desperate to see their team get the huge psychological boost that any derby win brings.
Forfar had the better of the derby exchanges last season with two wins to City's one, with one game ending in a draw.
The last game between the sides was on 10th March 2012 when Martyn Fotheringham (2), Nicky Low and Kevin Byers scored for the Loons in a 4-1 home win.
City's only success last season was at Glebe Park on 2nd January 2012 when a second-half brace from Paul McManus cancelled out Chris Templeman's first-half opener.
The Loons currently sit in second place in the Second Division table with nine points, three points ahead of City who sit in fifth position.
