Brechin City Football Club are delighted to announce a tie-up with a local business, whose HQ is just a corner-kick from Glebe Park.
Glencadam Distillery, which is going from strength to strength and has seen owners Angus Dundee Distillers reintroduce the Single Highland Malt "Glencadam" to the market place, will become main sponsors of the club's Official Match Programme, "The Spire".
The deal will also give all supporters aged 18 or over attending games at Glebe Park to win a bottle of the quality malt, simply by buying their copy of "The Spire" each week.
City chairman David Birse stated: "We are delighted to have such a close relationship with a business that is clearly going places and are also very good neighbours of Brechin City FC.
"Our award-winning match programme is already very good value for money at just £1.50, but this gives supporters coming to matches at Glebe Park and added incentive to buy their copy of "The Spire" every Saturday. Glencadam is a quality whisky, with its roots in the heart of Brechin and we are delighted to be involved with Angus Dundee Distillers."
Tania Hillman of Angus Dundee Distillers added: Since our company reopened Glencadam Distillery we have been very impressed with the professionalism and ambition shown by Brechin City Football Club.
"Our family are big football fans, being based in London, I am a season-ticket holder at Queen's Park Rangers, but I can assure everyone our favourite Scottish team play at Glebe Park and we are looking forward to getting up for a couple of games and cheering on the City again.
"Being main sponsors of the match programme and supplying Glencadam Whisky for regular buyers of "The Spire" to win at every game is not only a good way of getting the brand reintroduced to locals once again, it's a great way og allowing locals the opportunity to sample for themselves just what a good whisky Glencadam is."
The club are also delighted to announce that American-based company, British Metrics, have agreed to extend their sponsorship of the club's Official website www.brechincity.com by a further year.
British Metrics is owned by exiled City fan Martin Clark and Martin's company have sponsored the site for the last three years.
