Brechin City - Forfar Match Preview - By John Hoey

Brechin City will be trying hard to extend their unbeaten run to seven games against near neigbours Forfar Athletic for the first local derby of the season at the Glebe.

City haven’t had the best of things against the Loons in recent seasons but hopes are high amongst the City support that the team have what it takes to gain a vital win at the expense of their Angus neighbours.

The sides have met once already this season, at Station Park on 15th September when a Martyn Fotheringham goal after 22 minutes proved to be the winner.

City go into tomorrow’s game with a full-strength squad from which to select their team but it will be no surprise if manager Ray McKinnon opts with the side that finished the game against Albion Rovers on Tuesday night when goals from Andy Jackson and Derek Carcary netted City a vital three points.

Forfar didn’t fare so well during the same evening when they were trounced 5-1 against league leaders Queen of the South at Station Park.

Michael Dunlop who was sent off in that game automatically misses tomorrow’s action while Keith Gibson and goalkeeper Derek Soutar remain sidelined. Chris Templeman, Steven Tulloch and Danny Denholm all managed to train last night, and provided there is no reaction, they should find places in the starting line-up.

Tomorrow’s referee is Don Roberston.

The Match Sponsor is DELSON and the Match Ball will be sponsored by S & L Fire Safety Ltd, Forfar.
