BRECHIN CITY V ALLOA ATHLETIC PREVIEW
Brechin City face Alloa Athletic at the Glebe tomorrow high on confidence after their emphatic 4-1 victory over Forfar Athletic at Station Park on Wednesday.
However, manager Ray McKinnon has major doubts over midfielders Alan Trouten and Craig Molloy ahead of the visit of the Wasps.
Trouten had to sit out the Forfar game after being injured in City’s 2-0 victory over Stranraer whilst Molloy lasted only five minutes into the second-half at Station Park after picking up a nasty injury in the opening 45 minutes. On a positive front, Graham Hay’s move from Lochee United has now become permanent until the end of the season and he will be in his usual place at the heart of the City defence.
This is the third meeting between the sides this season. In the first game at Glebe Park on 1st September, Paul Hartley’s men ran out comfortable 3-1 winners thanks to goals from Robert Thomson, Kevin Cawley and Martin Grehan after Andy Jackson had given City the lead. It was a much more even game at Recreation Park in mid-November when City fought back from two goals down ( Kevin Cawley and Martin Grehan) to square the game thanks to goals from Johnny Brown and Andy Jackson.
City will be determined to collect all three points tomorrow against the team currently in second place. Manager Paul Hartley has no injury worries apart from defender Michael Doyle who has undergone a hernia operation.
The match will be refereed by Euan Anderson who has been in charge of a City fixture only once this season ( The 3-1 defeat from Stenhousemuir on 18th August).
Tomorrow’s Match Ball will be sponsored by Guthrie Bros, Ford – Montrose.
