AYR UNITED – BRECHIN CITY PREVIEW

Brechin City will embark on the long trip to Ayr tomorrow morning without the services of midfielder Craig Molloy who remains side-lined. There are also serious doubts about defender Johnny Brown and midfielder Garry Brady as City attempt to gain revenge for their 3-0 defeat at Somerset Park on 29th September in the only meeting between the sides this season.

That game proved to be former manager Jim Weir’s last game in charge after the Honest Men who had been reduced to ten men early in the game, ran out comfortable 3-0 winners, with Michael Moffat, Marc Twaddle and David Sinclair all on the mark for the hosts.

Since that time, City have gone on a great run, winning eight games, drawing two and losing only two of the twelve league games played, scoring 33 goals and conceding 17 goals in the process.

City will be itching to get back into action after the postponement of their last two games and despite their injury worries, they will be going all out to collect three vital league points as they aim to consolidate their third-place position in the Irn Bru Second Division table.

Ayr manager Mark Roberts has signed defender David McGregor from Dundee who looks set to make his debut while defender John Robertson will miss out because of injury.

The man in the middle tomorrow will be Ayrshire ref Greg Aitken who was promoted to Category 1 in May 2011. Tomorrow’s match will be Greg’s first Brechin City match of the season.
