BRECHIN CITY – EAST FIFE MATCH PREVIEW

Brechin City will be hoping to make it three wins on the trot when East Fife visit the Glebe in tomorrow afternoon’s Irn Bru Second Division fixture.

The last game between the sides took place at Bayview on the 12th of last month when the teams shared four goals in an evenly balanced and closely fought encounter.

City started well and grabbed the lead through Alan Trouten after just six minutes but the hosts fought back to equalise just before the half-hour when Collin Samuel headed home. Derek Carcary fired Brechin in front a couple of minutes later only for Bobby Barr to complete the scoring with a wonderful strike eight minutes before the break.

The other meeting between the teams took place at the Glebe on 25th August when two early goals from Andy Jackson sent City in at the break two goals up and although the visitors equalised 12 minutes before the end through Gareth Wardlaw, the hosts held on for victory.

Wardlaw, along with full-back Scott Durie, who is suspended, will miss out for the visitors tomorrow while City boss Ray McKinnon has only one absentee – Craig Molloy, who will be out until the beginning of next season.

City will go into the game on the back of that hard fought victory on Tuesday night thanks to a couple of Gerry McGlauchlan goals while Fifers boss Billy Brown who watched that game will be urging his players to bounce right back from their disappointing 2-1 defeat against Stenhousemuir at Ochilview last Saturday.
