Alloa - Brechin City Preview - By John Hoey

ALLOA ATHLETIC V BRECHIN CITY MATCH PREVIEW

Brechin City travel to Alloa tomorrow ten points behind but with five games in hand over the Wasps.

Craig Molloy is out for the season and City boss Ray McKinnon has an injury worry over skipper Ewan Moyes who went over his ankle in City’s last game against Ayr United a week past Tuesday. Alan Trouten who pulled a hamstring in the pre-match warm-up for that game has fully recovered and will be fit for the trip to Recreation Park.

Wasps manager Paul Hartley will be without veteran midfielder Darren Young for this match while Young’s fellow midfielder Stephen Simmons is suspended.

The three games between the sides this season have produced a victory for each side while one match was drawn.

On 1st September at Glebe Park, and Andy Jackson goal six minutes into the second-half gave City the lead but Alloa hit back to claim victory with goals from Robert Thomson, Kevin Cawley and Martin Grehan.

The second game between the sides at Recreation Park in mid-November ended all square. Alloa went in at half-time two goals up thanks to Cawley and Grehan but City hit back after the break to level the match with goals from Jackson and Johnny Brown.

The last meeting between the sides took place at the Glebe on 5th January. David McKenna grabbed the opener after just four minutes only for the Wasps to equalise through Cawley after 17 minutes with a Ryan McCord penalty seven minutes before the break giving them a 2-1 half-time lead. However, City came out with their sleeves rolled up for the second-half and goals from Alan Trouten and top scorer Jackson netted them a deserved victory.
