East Fife - Brechin City Preview
- By
John Hoey
Brechin City complete their Second Division campaign tomorrow afternoon when they travel across the River Tay to visit East Fife at Bayview Stadium.
City's 2-0 victory over Albion Rovers on Tuesday night confirmed that they will finish the season in third place and they will now face the Second Division Runners-Up, Alloa Athletic in the First Division Play-Off Semi-Finals next week.
For tomorrow afternoon's match, manager Ray McKinnon is likely to rest one or two players, just as he did against Rovers on Tuesday night and against Stenhousemuir the previous Saturday but City will again field a strong side against the Fifers.
Billy Brown has no injury worries and will have a full-strength squad at his disposal for the visit of City.
The Fifers sit in second-bottom place in the Second Division table and even a win against City wouldn't guarantee their escape from the Second Division Play-Offs if Stranraer beat Stenhousemuir at Ochilview.
The previous three meetings between the sides this season have brought two home victories for City (2-1 and 6-0) while the match at Bayview ended all-square at 2-2.
The last ten results for each team were :-
Brechin City - LLWLLWLDLW
East Fife - LLDLLLDWLD
Tomorrow's Match Referee is Andrew Dallas who refereed both of City's Scottish Cup matches against Bonnyrigg.
