Brechin City's first pre-season game of the season ended in a 1-0 victory against Cove Rangers at Stirling University Playing Fields.

The only goal of the game came after 38 minutes when Graham Hay rose above the Cove defence to head home a Stuart Anderson corner.

Despite the narrowness of the final score-line, City were in total command of the proceedings and manager Ray McKinnon said at the end of the game that he was very happy with the way his players had performed and delighted with the workout.

In addition to Anderson, all of City's pre-season signings took part at some stage of the game. Skipper Ewan Moyes and full-back Johnny Brown are still some way off from achieving match fitness although it is hoped that both players will be available for City's final pre-season match of the season against Montrose on July 20th.
