Peterhead - Brechin City Preview
- By
John Hoey
All City fans will be eagerly anticipating the kick-off of the new season which starts on Saturday against Peterhead at Balmoor Stadium in the first round of the Ramsdens Cup.
Brechin boss Ray McKinnon has been busy during the close-season signing a number of new faces which will undoubtedly add quality to the Glebe Park ranks but unfortunately, one of those new signings, striker Ryan Donnelly, who left Airdrie United to join City will miss out on this match due to injury.
Also unavailable for the trip up north will be skipper Ewan Moyes and full-back Johnny Brown who are still fighting their way back to match fitness but it is hoped that their involvement in the first-team won't be too long delayed.
Peterhead boss Jim McInally has a full squad available for this match with the exception of defender Callum MacDonald who will miss out through injury.
The man in the middle tomorrow will be experienced whistler Des Roache.
It will be very interesting to see what City's opening eleven will be and what formation they will play, but understandably, the manager won't be drawn on his starting line-up and we will all just have to wait and see what team takes the field.
This is a match that all City fans are looking forward to enormously and let's hope the players start from where they left off at the end of last season.
