Ray On Peterhead Game
- By
John Hoey
Brechin City manager Ray McKinnon, speaking shortly after the end of the Peterhead game made the following comments.
“ I’m obviously disappointed with the result as I want to go out and win every game and in terms of the performance, I thought that it was pretty average.”
“ We had six opportunities to counter in the first-half which we didn’t take and we normally punish teams for that, but our decision-making today was poor and we let them off the hook.”
“ The first goal we gave away was sloppy and was a mistake. The second goal looked five yards offside with my back-four rooted to the 18 yard line and Brown was standing in there, but that’s football sometimes the decisions are right, sometimes they’re wrong.”
“ Overall, we got ourselves into good areas today, and that’s really our first competitive game against a good, strong side, but our decision-making was poor, our cut-backs were poor and we were hitting the goalkeeper instead of taking it in and finishing.”
“ We’re disappointed but things will get better, things will start clicking, particularly in the final third of the park because we’ve good players who can only get better.”
“ All credit though to Peterhead, they’re a good team who are well organised and I hope that they do well.”
