Brechin City-Stenhousemuir Preview - By John Hoey

Brechin City - Stenhousemuir Match Preview

Brechin City bring their season to a close tomorrow afternoon when they face Stenhousemuir at Glebe Park.

City will be hoping to make it three wins on the trot after consecutive away victories against Stranraer and East Fife and they will be wanting to bring the curtain down on the league campaign with a good performance against a side who they have still to beat this season. The Warriors have won all three previous league encounters with 3-2 and 4-2 victories at Ochilview and a narrow 1-0 win here at the Glebe in December.

Although Stenny need to win to have any hope of clinching a play-off spot there is also a lot at stake for City. A home victory along with wins for Stranraer against Forfar and Arbroath against Airdrie would see Ray McKinnon's men finish in fifth place in the League One table and there's no doubt that the players will be determined to achieve that objective although they will be relying on the Lichties and the Blues to do them a good turn.

The City boss has no injury worries for the match and will have a full squad at his disposal while Stenhousemuir counterpart Scott Booth will be without defender Eddie Malone. The Stenny manager also reports that club captain Ross McMillan must be considered as extremely doubtful while winger Sean Higgin's chances are rated as no more than 50-50.

The Match Sponsor for tomorrow's game is Turner and Townsend Ltd whilst the Match Ball is being sponsored by J & R Milne.

Mascots are Mitchell Brown and Alastair Thorrington and the Match referee is Greg Aitken who will be refereeing his second City match of the season, the previous game being the 3-2 home win against League Runners-Up Dunfermline in January, so let's hope that's a good omen for tomorrow.
