St Johnstone v Brechin : Preview - By Steven Mew

Brechin travel to Perth tomorrow to take on a St Johnstone side who are expected to be challenging for the championship come the end of the season. To make things tougher for Ian Campbell and Brechin, there are plenty of injury worries ahead of tomorrow's match against the Saintee's.

Captain Paul Deas, Alex Burns, Steven Hampshire, Darren Smith and Craig McEwan are all doubtful for the Tayside clash. Stuart Callaghan will also be unavailable as he is suspended after being sent-off in the 3-1 defeat to Dundee at Glebe Park a fortnight ago.

Despite the two week break from league duty, the squad have been put through a number of extra training sessions and have also played two bounce matches against Stenhousemuir (2-2 draw) and a strong Aberdeen side (0-2 loss).

The match will mark the end of the first quarter of the campaign and City players will be eager to get the first win under the belt before the second quarter gets underway against Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park next week, but it's always going to be tough against two promotion chasing sides away from home.

St Johnstone are not without their injury worries either. Peter McDonald, Mark Campbell and Kieran McAnespie are all out with achilles injuries while both David Hannah and Kevin Rutkiewicz are both out with viral infections.

For Brechin fans wishing to go to the match, the Brechin City Supporter's Club are running a bus to McDiarmid Park, leaving St Ninians Square at 12:30pm. Please contact Jim Craig on (01356) 623151 to book a seat.

City fans will be housed in the North End of the Main Stand. Prices are £16 for adults, £5 for senior citizens and £4 for under 18's.
