Ryan Looking Forward to Pars Match - By John Hoey

Ryan Looking Forward To Saturday

One City player who is definitely looking forward to Saturday's league opener against title favourites Dunfermline Athletic is midfielder Ryan Ferguson who had a short spell at East End Park last season.

Although Ryan was only with the Pars for around six months or so, prior to signing a year long deal at Glebe Park, he's looking forward to renewing old acquaintances on Saturday, but that's as far as the 'old pals act' will go as the 20 year-old is determined to put one over his former team mates to help give City a flying start to their league campaign.

" I certainly enjoyed my time at East End Park, " said Ryan.

" I got on really well with all of the players and with the manager Jim Jefferies and Neil McCann so I'm looking forward to meeting up with everyone again on Saturday.

Although my time was relatively short there I felt that I learnt a lot. Jim and Neil have vast experience and you can't help but learn from them and I'll always be grateful for that."

" However my absolute priority on Saturday will be to help City to three crucial league points and it would be tremendous if we can achieve that against the Pars."

" We'll be going there, determined to come away with a good result. We have a really good squad of players at the club, we all work hard for each other and confidence is high."

" We've been really pleased with the way we started the season. We had a really good win at Central Park and we followed that up with another good performance against Dumbarton on Saturday. It was hugely disappointing not to get the result we'd been hoping for as we seemed to do everything but put the ball in the back of the net." However, some games are like that and you just have to pick yourself up and focus on the next game."

" There's no doubt in my mind however, that we're capable of winning Saturday's game."

"We beat Dunfermline convincingly last season so we have nothing to fear and everything to gain if we play to our abilities and perform to the standards that we set ourselves against Cowdenbeath and Dumbarton."

" Dunfermline have lost some good players like Stephen Husband and Callum Morris who were big players for them last season and they've added the likes of Michael Moffat, Andy Stirling and Gregor Buchanan but we have added quality to our team as well with the signings of Jamie and Darren McCormack, Colin Hamilton and Callum Tapping."

" Every team wants to get their league campaign off to a winning start and wouldn't it be great for everyone at Glebe Park if we get off to a flyer against the title favourites on their own patch."
