Brechin City - Morton Match Preview - By John Hoey

Brechin City - Morton Match Preview

Brechin City manager Ray McKinnon is in the fortunate position of having no injury worries ahead of tomorrow afternoon's eagerly anticipated clash against Morton.

The City manager will go into tomorrow's game full of optimism after his side's sterling display against Falkirk in the Scottish Cup Fifth round last Saturday which brought to an end City's fourteen game unbeaten run and the manager will be looking for his team to maintain the same level of commitment and application that they showed against the Bairns.

City have played well against Jim Duffy's men in the two previous games between the sides this season. In the first match at Glebe Park on 4th October, City raced into a two-goal half-time lead thanks to an Alan Trouten penalty and a further goal from Robert Thomson with Kyle McAusland adding a third goal to wrap up the points early in the second-half and although the visitors pulled a goal back through Thomas O'Ware shortly afterwards, City held on for a comfortable victory. City dominated the return game at Cappielow in December and again raced into a 2-0 half-time lead with goals from Andy Jackson and Jamie Masson but unfortunately Morton reduced the deficit midway through the half with a Jamie McCluskey goal with Declan McManus grabbing the equaliser right at the death.

Morton sit six points ahead of City in the race for the League One title although they have played two games more so tomorrow's encounter is hugely important from both side's point of view.

The referee will be Dumbarton whistler Euan Anderson who has been a Category One ref since 2011. Euan has refereed only one City game this season and that was the opening fixture of the league campaign against Dunfermline at East End Park on 9th August which finished 0-0.

The Match Sponsor is that good friend of the club Beefy Stewart while the Brechin City Supporters Club will be sponsoring the Match Ball.

A limited number of guest passes will be available on the day of the match for the 1983 Hospitality Lounge costing only £8.

Admission Prices are :-
