Stirling Albion v Brechin City Match Preview
Brechin City will be hoping to maintain their good run of form when they travel the comparatively short trip south to Forthbank Stadium to face Stirling Albion tomorrow afternoon.
City manager Ray McKinnon has no fresh injury worries following the 1-1 against Morton with Andy Jackson rejoining the squad after missing the match against Jim Duffy's men. In addition, new loan signing Ollie Durojaiye will go straight into the squad following his acquisition from Falkirk and it would be no surprise if he plays some part in the proceedings during tomorrow's encounter.
A repeat of the score-line the last time City visited Forthbank would I am sure go down well with the supporters. City ran out 5-0 winners on that occasion with Andy Jackson and Alan Trouten each scoring a brace and Bobby Barr getting in on the score-sheet as well. It was a very much closer tussle in the return match at the Glebe in mid November in manager Stuart McLaren's first game in charge of the Binos. A Robert Thomson goal after 27 minutes gave the hosts the perfect start but they faced an uphill struggle with full-back Colin Hamilton's dismissal for deliberate handball early in the second-half. Graeme Smith made a great save from the resultant penalty and Paul McLean increased his side's lead just on the hour mark with former City striker Graham Weir scoring a late consolation for the visitors five minutes before the end.
With the top four teams in the league all playing each other tomorrow, City will be determined to collect all three points to close the gap on the team's above them and keep up their challenge at the top end of the table.
The referee will be Glasgow based Colin Steven who was the man in the middle for the Stenhouseumuir - Brechin City Scottish Cup tie on 1st November.
The Brechin City Supporters Club will as usual be running a bus to the match which will depart from St Ninians Square at 11.00am. As usual seats can be booked by contacting Steven Stewart on 07547552209
