Brechin v St Mirren - By Steven Mew

A quick reminder to City supporters that there is a 1st Division match against St Mirren tonight at Glebe Park, with a 7:30 kick off.

This match was originally due to be played on the 5th of November but St Mirren had a Bell's Cup final that day against Hamilton at New Broomfield, which they won 2-1 thanks to goals from Simon Lappin and John Sutton.

City have met the Saints once so far this season, where it was a tale of two penalties. Stewart Kean converted a first half penalty at Love Street but Craig McEwan blasted his 2nd half penalty high into the stand. City were left to rue that missed chance as the Saints held on for a 1-0 win.

Since then, St Mirren have gone on a good run of results in the league, and have also won the Bell's Cup as mentioned earlier. City meanwhile are on a terrible run and are desperate to get the 'monkey of their back' against the league leaders tonight.

City may have Craig McEwan back into contention for this match, but Captain Paul Deas is doubtful after he was substituted off against Ross County at the week-end.

Saints meanwhile, have doubts over skipper Kevin McGowne, Ian Maxwell and Hugh Murray.

Club officials have been in discussion with Tayside Police with a view to relaxing the segregation arranagements previously agreed for the St Mirren fixture.

Unfortunately, given the suggested travelling support from St Mirren segregation will apply and all Brechin supporters are asked to enter and exit the ground from the Cemetery Road End in practise with the usual segregation procedures.
