Brechin City - Cowdenbeath Match Preview
Brechin City will be looking to make it two wins from two games when Cowdenbeath visit the Glebe on league duty tomorrow.
After last weekend's morale-boosting win at Peterhead, the City players are all looking forward to the match and although they will be absolutely determined to take all three points they recognise that it will be far from easy against the Fifers who had a terrific 2-1 victory over Forfar at Central Park last Saturday.
As far as team new goes, manager Darren Dods reports that he has a full squad from which to choose his starting eleven, the first time this has happened since the season began. No new injuries were picked up at Balmoor Stadium and the players who missed that game, Darren McCormack, Ross Perry and David Weatherston have all trained this week and will be fit for selection if required on Saturday.
The Blue Brazil presently sit four points in front of City in eighth position in the Ladbrokes League One table having won two, drawn one and lost four of their league matches so far, so a victory for the visitors would see that points gap extended to seven whereas a City win would see the gap narrowed to just one point and it's closing that gap that will be the overriding objective of the City players on Saturday.
The referee for the match will be Gavin Ross and the Match Ball will be sponsored by Guthrie Bros Ford, Montrose.
Supporters from both clubs are reminded that the 1983 Hospitality Lounge now jointly sponsored by long-term supporters of the club James Lammond Ltd and very welcome new sponsors Blaze Manufacturing Solutions Limited from Laurencekirk will be open before the match, at half-time and after the game and a limited number of day passes will be available at the very reasonable price of £8 on top of gate admission.
