Airdrieonians - Brechin City Match Preview

Brechin City will head to Airdrie tomorrow hoping to stretch their recent unbeaten run to four games.

Back to back victories over Peterhead and Cowdenbeath followed by a draw against Stenhousemuir have netted Darren Dod's men seven points from their last three games and the manager and players will be determined to keep up the good work against the Diamonds as they try to draw closer to the team's in the middle of the table.

Darren has no injury worries for tomorrow and he'll again have a full squad available, something of a novelty considering the injury problems he had to deal with earlier in the season. In any event, the players are all looking forward to the match and will be eager to get a bit of revenge for the 2-1 defeat that they suffered at the hands of tomorrow's opponents earlier in the season.

In that match, played at the Glebe on 22nd August, two first-half goals from Bryan Prunty gave the visitors a comfortable two goal advantage and although Andy Jackson pulled a goal back with just under twenty minutes to go, City were unable to snatch a share of the spoils.

Gary Bollan's team have won haven't won since 12th September when they ran out 2-1 winners against Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill. Since that game, the Diamonds have suffered two narrow home defeats to Ayr United and Stranraer with a credible 1-1 draw against Dunfermline at East End Park in between. They will be determined to get back to winning ways tomorrow but City will be equally determined to continue their recent run of good form and which would see them edge closer to a mid table position.
