Brechin City - Albion Rovers Match Preview - By John Hoey

Brechin City - Albion Rovers Match Preview

Brechin City manager Darren Dods has only one injury concern ahead of tomorrow's Ladbrokes League One clash against Albion Rovers at Glebe Park.

Robert Thomson picked up a thigh strain in last Saturday's 1-0 defeat against Airdrieonians at Excelsior Stadium and Darren rates his chances of facing Albion at no more than 50-50. Otherwise, all those who were involved in the Airdrie match are fit and will be available for tomorrow's encounter.

Darren Young's have made a more than credible start to the league campaign and presently sit in fourth position in the table, nine points ahead of City and they will be looking to increase that points advantage on Saturday.

In Rovers last match against Peterhead last Saturday, a John Gemmell injury-time winner netted his side a vital three points and the big man was on target in the only Rovers - City clash this season played at Cliftonhill at the end of August when he scored his side's second goal in a 3-1 home win with Rovers other goals coming from Ross Dunlop and Andy Barrowman with Craig Johnstone scoring City's goal.

From City's point of view, nothing other than a home victory will suffice if they want to edge themselves closer to the sides in the middle of the table. With only five points separating City from sixth placed Stranraer it is clear that there is all to play for and the players will certainly be going all out to record a second successive home victory.

The referee for tomorrow's fixture is Ayrshire based Steven Kirkland who will be in charge of his first Brechin City match of the season.
