Brechin City - Stranraer Match Preview
City will enter tomorrow's vitally important match against Stranraer hoping to leapfrog the Blues in the Ladbrokes Scottish League One table.
At the present time, Brian Reid's team sit just two points ahead of City in ninth position but a home victory tomorrow would see the positions reversed and set up the hosts nicely prior to the difficult festive period schedule.
Apart from Ross Perry who's still awaiting word as to when he will undergo his cruciate ligament operation, everyone else is fit and raring to go against the Blues.
Gary Fusco who had to come off in last Saturday's home draw against Peterhead with a hamstring strain managed to train last night and should be ok whilst Dene Sheilds came through last Saturday's match, his first full competitive action for several weeks, unscathed.
The City players will be very much looking to carry on where they left off against the Blue Toon but Stranraer who have only won once in their last seven fixtures will be looking to increase the points gap at the foot of the table.
In the only previous fixture between the teams this season at Stair Park on 5th September, a Jamie Longworth goal six minutes into the second-half netted the hosts all three points.
The referee will be Mike Roncone who has handled just one previous City fixture this season, the 1-0 victory over Forfar at Station Park at the end of October, so let's hope that's a good omen for tomorrow.
The Match and Ball Sponsorship has been taken up by long term supporter of The Club Graham Thomson via Turner and Townshend Ltd and the Management Committee is hugely grateful to Graham for doing so once again. Graham's son Murray is taking on the role of Brechin City mascot.
A limited number of Day Passes are available for fans considering a visit to the 1983 Hospitality Lounge. Contact The Club through the usual channels to secure entry.
