Brechin City - Airdrieonians Match Preview

Brechin City will get back to some long awaited competitive action when Airdrieonians visit Glebe Park for tomorrow's Ladbrokes League One fixture.

With City's game against Stenhousemuir abandoned at half-time last Saturday, it's incredibly been three weeks since Darren Dod's men were last in action, their last game being the 2-1 defeat down at Somerset Park against Ayr United on Boxing Day.

Since that time, Dene Shields has departed the club with Lewis Spence coming in on loan from Dunfermline. The manager will have the same squad available for the visit of the Diamonds minus of course Shields. Jonathan Tiffoney who would have served his one game suspension if the Stenny match had reached a conclusion will have to sit out tomorrow's encounter as well but he will be available for the long trek to Stranraer on Saturday week.

Tomorrow's visitors Airdrie, who sit in fifth position in the table, eleven points ahead of City, are now under the charge of former Montrose boss Eddie Wolecki Black and since his appointment in late December when he replaced Gary Bollan, the Diamonds have suffered two successive single goal home defeats against Stenhousemuir and Peterhead although they bounced right back from those results with an excellent 2-1 victory away to Albion Rovers on January 2nd. They have a 100% record against City though with two league victories and a Scottish Cup win under their belts and that is a statistic that the City players will be determined to change come 3pm tomorrow afternoon.

The Glebe Park pitch which was frozen earlier in the week has thawed considerably with the recent higher temperatures and rain and should be in fine fettle for tomorrow.

The referee will be Nick Walsh who was the man in the middle in City's last competitive fixture against Ayr United at Somerset Park on Boxing Day.

The match is being sponsored by Edinburgh law firm, Murray Beith Murray and the Club is delighted to welcome John Scott Moncrieff, Andrew Stephen and their guests to The Glebe Park Boardroom. The match ball is kindly sponsored by Insurance Brokers, Arthur Gallacher (UK).

Entry to the 1983 Hospitality Lounge will be available on matchday, this upgrade only costing only £8.

Admission Prices at Glebe Park are :-

Parent & Child - £15 (Plus £2 admission for each additional school-age child in family party)
Adults - £12
Concessions - £6 (Over 65's and Under 18's)
