Stranraer - Brechin City Match Preview - By John Hoey

Stranraer - Brechin City Match Preview

Brechin City will embark on the long trek south-west to Stranraer tomorrow morning eager to pick up maximum points against the Blues who sit two places ahead and seven points in front of Darren Dods men having played one game more.

The City manager will go into the match without the services of the club's longest-serving player, Paul McLean who came off injured in last week's 3-3 draw against Airdrieonians. However, midfielder Lewis Spence who also had to come off the field in that game has recovered from injury and is likely to be in his usual central midfield position while Jonathan Tiffoney will also come back into the reckoning having served his one game suspension.

Stair Park is never an easy place to pick up points but City know that they will have to try and close the gap on their opponents who had an excellent 2-0 victory away at Cowdenbeath last weekend with Willie Gibson and Craig Malcolm on the mark.

The sides have met twice already this season with a win apiece the outcomes.

In the first match between the sides, played at Stair Park at the beginning of September, a Jamie Longworth goal, six minutes into the second-half gave the Blues all three points whilst the result was reversed at the Glebe in mid December when City ran out 2-0 winners thanks to two early goals from Dene Shields and Isaac Layne.

The referee for tomorrow's match will be Glasgow based David Munro who has been in charge of one previous City match this season, the 1-0 away defeat at Airdrieonians in October.

Admission Prices at Stair Park are :-

Adult - £13
Senior Citizen - £7
Under 16's - £5
