Brechin City - Forfar Athletic Match Preview
Brechin City manager Darren Dods certainly doesn't have his problems to seek ahead of tonight's local derby against Forfar Athletic at. Glebe Park. Midfielders David Weatherston and Lewis Spence have both been ruled out while strikers Andy Jackson's and Liam Watt's prospects are rated at 50-50.
Forfar manager Gary Bollan is very likely to field the same team which defeated Albion Rovers on Saturday when a Steven Craig goal in the dying seconds netted the Loons a vital three points. Michael Travis has already been ruled out for the rest of the season while fellow defenders Iain Campbell and Michael Dunlop who missed Saturday's match are again rated doubtful for this evening.
Victory for the visitors this evening would see them increase the points gap between the sides to ten, having played one game less than City, and with only nine games remaining for the hosts after tonight's encounter, that is a scenario they will be anxious to avoid.
The teams have met on two occasions this season with the with the score standing at one win apiece.
The Loons came out on top here at the Glebe in the middle of September when a goal ten minutes before the break from Derek Young and a further goal a minute into the second-half from Omar Kader netted the visitors maximum points whilst City repaid the compliment at Station Park at the end of October when an Andy Jackson goal early in the second-half gave City victory.
The referee will be Mike Roncone who has been in charge of three City fixtures this season, the last one being City's last home game against Dunfermline Athletic just over a week ago.
The match is being kindly sponsored by Ferguson Oliver Wealth Management who are welcome visitors to our Boardroom, along with guests representing Club Main Sponsor, Delson.
The ball sponsors tonight are Mark & Bev Carlton and Martin & Sue Aisthorpe, who were first time visitors to Glebe Park a few weeks ago having travelled north from Grimsby to do so.
