Brechin City - Stranraer Match Preview - By John Hoey

Brechin City - Stranraer Match Preview

Brechin City will head into tomorrow's penultimate league fixture against Stranraer hoping to pick up from where they left off against Peterhead last Saturday.

The City players are sure to take a great deal of confidence from that performance but to be fair their displays over the course of the last eight weeks have been extremely heartening and hopefully that will continue against the Blues.

It's hardly worth going into the various scenarios that could occur come 4.45pm tomorrow but suffice to say three points is an absolute must for Darren Dod's men and although supporters will be keeping a close eye on events at Cliftonhill and Central Park it's what City do that will count at the end of the day.

With no fresh injuries to report from last Saturday, it's odds on that the manager will name the same starting eleven to face Brian Reid's side who will see this match as being equally vital given that victory for them will seal that final play-off position.

The referee for tomorrow's match is Alan Newlands who has refereed two City matches this season, the away defeats at Stranraer and Cowdenbeath.

This match has been sponsored by long standing supporter of The Club Allan Jess of former Main Sponsor A P Jess. We hope that Allan and his party thoroughly enjoy their day as Boardroom guests.

The match ball has been kindly sponsored by Hartlepool based City fan Alan Willis who is making a lengthy pilgrimage to The Glebe to take in the game.

The 1983 Hospitality Lounge is fully booked for this match , and guests are reminded that closure will be earlier than usual at 7pm. This is due to The Player Awards taking place at The Comedy Night event in The City Hall later in the evening.
