Albion Rovers - Brechin City Match Preview

Brechin City will be hoping to make it two victories from two games when they travel through to Coatbridge tomorrow to play Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill. Cliftonhill wasn't a happy hunting ground for City last season with Rovers coming out on top on both occasions by 3-1 and 4-1 respectively. However, the visitors will go into the match encouraged by their performance against Stenhousemuir last Saturday and manager Darren Dods will be expecting his players to show the same degree of commitment and application that was evident against the Warriors as they attempt to clinch victory at a ground where it is always difficult to pick up points.

Darren Young's men started off the new league campaign with a 2-2 draw against Ladbrokes League Two champions East Fife at Methil with Callum Smith and ex Dunfermline striker Ryan Wallace scoring Rovers goals and they will obviously be hoping to kick-off their home campaign with three points something the City players will be determined to prevent.

As far as City team news is concerned, defender Paul McLean who was on the bench last week is fit but fellow defender Darren McCormack is still struggling with the calf injury he picked up against Falkirk in the Betfred cup-tie a couple of weeks ago and is rated as doubtful. Also in the doubtful category is Gary Fusco who missed last week's match because of work commitments. Gary has hurt his Achilles and it will be very a much a 'wait and see' situation regarding his availability for Saturday.

The referee tomorrow is Ayrshire based Greg Aitken who was promoted to the Grade 1 list five years ago.

The Brechin City Supporters Club will be running a bus for tomorrow's match which will depart from the usual St Ninian's Square departure point at 10.30am. William (07925227826) is the man to contact if you wish to book a seat. Alternatively, you can leave your name on the Supporters' Club Facebook page.
