Brechin City - Queens Park Match Preview - By John Hoey

Brechin City - Queens Park Match Preview

Given his positive and upbeat post-match comments after the 2-0 defeat down at Stranraer, manager Darren Dods is likely to keep the same line-up for the visit of Queens Park for tonight's rearranged Ladbrokes Scottish League One match at Glebe Park.

Despite Saturday's defeat, the manager was pleased with the overall performance of the team, particularly the number of chances created over the course of the ninety minutes and he will be looking for a repeat of that performance albeit a different outcome tonight.

Alan Trouten will serve the final match of his two-game suspension as City attempt to pick up their first league points of 2017.

The Spiders match against Albion Rovers on Saturday fell victim to the weather with Cliftonhill waterlogged and like City they have been going through a sticky patch with their last league victory coming way back on January 7th when they defeated Airdrieonians at Hampden Park. Gus McPherson's side sit two points in front of City in the table, so tonight's match is clearly a vital one for both sides with City aiming to make sure that that points gap isn't increased. Victory for the home side would see them leapfrog Queens into fifth place while an away victory would see the points gap extended in the Spiders favour to five, something City will be determined to avoid.
