Minutes of the Meeting Held at Glebe Park 3rd January 1956.

Present: Messrs Farquhar, Paterson, Low, Whyte, Robertson & Shaw.

The Chairman opened the meeting and the minutes of the previous meeting were read. Mr Paterson moved their approval and was seconded by Mr Low.

Finance - Mr Paterson gave the weekly financial report and A/c to Brechin United Coperative Society and the Hydro Electric Board were passed for payment.

Correspondence - The findings of the Referees Committee re the alleged stone throwing incident at the Albion Rovers game had been recd by the Club. The Club was asked to take precautions so that a similar incident would not occur.

Report on the Game V Queens Park at Glebe Park
Though perhaps not the better team Brechin emerged from this encounter with both points. Warrender put Brechin on the lead before half time. Queens who were playing good football could not penetrate a stubborn Brechin defence and Brechin scored again six minutes from time. Nichol, Paterson, Hodge & Aitken deserve credit for playing a mostly defensive game. Final result Brechin 2 Queens 0.

Report on the Match V Montrose at Glebe Park
Spectators got little to enthuse over in the New Years game. This game never reached the standard of Saturdays game. Brechin coasted along to a 3-1 victory although for a short period in the second half Montrose looked like snatching a point. Brechin scorers were Warrender one and Selway 2. Final result Brechin 3 Montrose 1.

Scouting - Various members of the Committee had attended junior matches during the week and favourable reports about Rodgers & Hynds Couper Angus & Rollo Jeanfield Swifts were noted.

Team Selection - The following team was selected to play Morton at Cappielow on Saturday first - Nicol, Paterson, Hodge, Rennie, Aitken, Todd, Solway, Muir, Warrender, Gray & Gilmour.
