Brechin City - Livingston Match Preview
Brechin City manager Darren Dods will be looking for more of the same from his players when league leaders Livingston come calling at the Glebe for tomorrow's 3rd versus 1st clash. The league form of the two sides has been remarkably identical over the last six weeks with four victories, one draw and one defeat apiece, so a close and competitive encounter would seem to be very much on the cards.
Livi were installed as red hot favourites for the league title from day one and they are certainly living up to those early expectations sitting proudly at the top of the table with an impressive 63 points from 30 matches, eleven points in front of nearest challengers Alloa Athletic and a further 18 points ahead of City.
However, City will, not let those statistics faze them in the least and they will enter tomorrow's match brimming with confidence after last Saturday's dramatic late win over East Fife which saw them move up to third place in the table.
The form of the team has been very impressive in recent matches and there's no doubt that the manager will be urging his players to continue the good work against David Hopkins's men. As far as team news is concerned, Ally Love will return to the squad but he has been struggling with a hamstring injury sustained in his last appearance against Alloa Athletic and is rated at 50/50 by the manager. Therefore, it would seem probable that the team which started against East Fife last Saturday will take the field again tomorrow.
