Committee Change
The Club wish to announce a change to the Management Committee.
Committee member and assistant safety officer, Eric Brown, is to retire from the committee because of work commitments.
Eric has served on the committee for 5 years and helped around the Club for quite some time before that with the club lottery. Latterly Eric has helped run the Club’s successful fund raising golf day. Eric is to continue to fulfil his role as Assistant Safety Officer and will also continue to help out with the repair and maintenance of Glebe Park.
The Club are pleased to welcome local businessman Bobby Black onto the committee to fill the vacancy arising from Eric’s retiral. Bobby is well known to most City fans having supported the Club all his life and as part of a local family business. Bobby is now literally steering the coach and removal business as well as the home furnishing store in Clerk Street. As well as providing the team and supporters coaches Bobby has been helping the Club out with a number of projects already this season and we look forward to working with Bobby in the future.
Chairman Ken Ferguson said ‘We wish to thank Eric for all the hard work, time and effort he has dedicated to Brechin City during his time on the committee and we are very grateful to him for agreeing to continue with his safety officer duties until we get someone else qualified into this role. We are delighted to welcome Bobby onto the committee, Bobby has already shown his passion for the Club through various actions and support. In an age when volunteers are hard to come by we are delighted that Bobby has agreed to join the committee bringing with him valuable knowledge of both the local community and business environment.’
