Falkirk v Brechin City - Match Preview - By Steven Mew

City are on the road again tomorrow as they make the trip to face Falkirk. Despite confirmation of relegation last week, it’s still all to play for as City continue to chase a first league win of the season and with just seven games remaining, everyone involved with the club will be keen to avoid making unwanted history.

Paul Hartley’s Falkirk side meanwhile look to have a mountain to climb if they are to grab a promotion playoff spot, but their 7 point advantage over 9th placed Dumbarton should see them safe from any danger of the relegation playoffs.

LAST TIME OUT
Despite a positive first half performance, City went down 2-0 against Morton at Cappielow, with John Baird bagging a brace.

Falkirk meanwhile have enjoyed a slight break from league action with their last fixture coming two weeks ago as they picked up a creditable 0-0 draw away to high flying Livingston.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
City picked up their second point of the season against the Bairns with a hard fought 1-1 draw at Glebe Park in September. Alex Harris had given the visitors an early lead however Finn Graham equalised for City midway through the second half.

The two sides clashed in consecutive matches in February, with the Bairns running out comfortable 3-1 winners in a rescheduled game at the Falkirk Stadium and just eleven days later, a goal from on-loan Watford man Alex Jakubiak deep into stoppage time earned all three points for Paul Hartley’s men.

TEAM NEWS
Euan Spark will be unavailable as he misses the game through suspension having gone over the booking threshold. Andy Jackson, Craig Storie and Ryan McGeever won't feature again this season due to injury but everyone else is available and in contention.

MATCH OFFICIALS
Referee for the game will be Stephen Finnie, assisted by Stuart Stevenson and Jonathan Bell. This will be the second time Finnie will have officiated a City game this season, having taken charge of the 3-2 defeat against Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena back in October.
