Livingston v Brechin City - Match Preview - By Steven Mew

It's the penultimate league game of the season tomorrow afternoon as City travel to face Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

The Lions, who have surpassed all expectations this season are currently battling to secure 2nd place in the Championship and will pose a stiff test for a City side coming off the back of a heavy defeat against Dundee United midweek.

TEAM NEWS
After coming off with an injury midweek, Jordan Sinclair has been ruled out and may also miss the final game of the season against Queen of the South at Glebe Park. Both Euan Spark and Gary Fusco are rated as 50/50. Striker Dylan Mackin will not be available to play against his parent club due to terms of loan agreement.

On a more positive note - despite each picking up their 6th yellow cards of the season against Dundee United, suspensions for both skipper Paul McLean and midfielder Callum Tapping won't kick until next season.

MATCH OFFICIALS
Steven Reid will take charge of the game tomorrow, assisted by Willie Conquer and Calum Doyle. The last time Reid officiated a City match was a 2-0 defeat against Stranraer at Stair Park in February last year.

LAST TIME OUT
Despite a positive first half performance, City went down 5-0 to Dundee United at Glebe Park midweek with all five goals coming in the second period.

Livingston meanwhile recorded a creditable draw away from home against St Mirren last Saturday, but it wasn't enough to stop the Buddies clinching the title.

12 August 2017 - Brechin City 2-2 Livingston
City’s first point of the season came against the Lions at Glebe Park. First half goals from Dylan Mackin and Scott Pittman looked to have put Livi well on their way to a routine win however City had other ideas in the second period. Kalvin Orsi pulled a goal back for City before Finn Graham slammed in the equaliser on the hour mark to gain a well earned draw.

28 October 2017 - Livingston 3-2 Brechin City
In the reverse fixture at the Tony Macaroni Arena, Livi came out on top. A goalkeeping mistake from Graeme Smith allowed Jack McMillan to score the opener after just 3 minutes but a splendid free kick from Jordan Sinclair five minutes later brought City level. Goals from Craig Halkett and Dylan Mackin had Livi sitting comfortably but a late penalty converted by Kalvin Orsi five minutes from time set up a grandstand finish, however the home side held out for all three points.

13 January 2018 - Brechin City 0-2 Livingston
City slumped to a disappointing defeat in the most recent clash between the two sides. A first half penalty from Craig Halkett set the Lions on their way to victory with Scott Robinson wrapping things up with a second goal midway through the second period.
