City welcomed Neil McCann's Dundee side to Glebe Park last night in what was the first chance for City supporters to see how the squad is shaping up ahead of the new season whilst catching a glimpse of the new signings and trialists in action.
As would you would expect, the Premiership side provided a stern test for City in what was a good workout for both sides.
City started the game with three new signings on show, namely Sean Burns, Dougie Hill and Dene Shields. Also playing from the start was two trialists, with a further 4 trialists on the substitutes bench.
The visitors had much of the possession in the early stages of the game but it took until the 18th minute before the first real chance fell their way. Genseric Kusunga rose highest to meet a corner and his header came back off the crossbar.
Dundee continued to press forward but they were finding it difficult against a well organised City rearguard. Both Moussa and Scott were unable to convert following a goalmouth scramble and a few minutes later, Scott could only lift his shot over the bar with the goal gaping.
The Dees had the luxury of being able to able to replace their entire starting 11 at the interval, with the likes of ex-England international Steven Caulker and former City loanee Craig Wighton entering the fray. City meanwhile only made one change, with a trialist replacing Dene Shields upfront.
The visitors started the second half on the front foot and went ahead shortly before the hour mark. A cross from the left hand side by Randy Wolters was met by JEAN ALASSANE MENDY who headed beyond O'Neill.
However, City were back on level terms nine minutes later. Some good work from Orsi down the left flank saw him deliver an inviting cross for a TRIALIST who slotted past Jack Hamilton in the Dundee goal.
City had keeper Paddy O'Neill to thank for keeping the scoreline level when he made a superb reflex save to deny Josh Meekings and shortly after the same player headed wide from a corner.
Manager Darren Dods made a number of changes throughout the second half as he introduced Aron Lynas and three further trialists.
The visitors continued to push for a winner in the closing stages however the City defence held firm to earn a draw.
Next up for City is another home friendly against Dundee United on Tuesday evening with a 7:45pm kick off.
