Brechin City v Dunfermline Athletic - Match Preview
- By
Steven Mew
City welcome Championship side Dunfermline Athletic to Glebe Park in the Betfred Cup tomorrow evening hoping to build on last weeks win against Stirling Albion
Darren Dods' side will be under no illusions as to the difficulty of the task ahead with full-time Pars recording an impressive 1-0 win against Premier League outfit Dundee at Dens Park on Sunday, with the Dee awaiting City in the final group match this coming weekend.
TEAM NEWS
Ryan McGeever and Andy Jackson continue to miss out for City but both players are pushing hard in training and nearing a return to action. Otherwise, Darren Dods has a fully fit squad at his disposal.
Registration for a new signing - which had been anticipated ahead of the Stirling game last week, should be completed ahead of the game and will be included in the squad.
MATCH OFFICIALS
The referee tomorrow evening will be experienced whistler Alan Newlands. He will be assisted by Graham McNeillie and Barry Reid. The last time Newlands took charge of a City game was at the tail end of last season as City slumped to a disappointing 1-0 midweek defeat on the road against Dumbarton.
ADMISSION INFORMATION
Similarly to the Peterhead match in the opening group game, the committee have confirmed reduced admission prices for tomorrow evening. They are as follows:

- Concession £5

- Kick off is 7:45pm
The City Club bar is open to both sets of supporters from 6:30pm and will be open immediately after the game until 10:30pm.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The two sides of course faced each other in the Championship last season, with the Fifers emerging victorious in all four fixtures between the sides.
