PREVIOUS MEETING
City recorded a famous win over the Dee the last time the sides clashed competitively in the League Cup in August 2010. Having been reduced to 10 men after Paul McLean was sent off around the hour mark, City somehow stormed into a 2-0 lead thanks to a quick-fire brace from Rory McAllister. Leigh Griffiths netted a double for the dark blues to bring them level but then missed a penalty to win the tie with the last kick of the game.
A goalless extra time forced a penalty shootout where some inspired goalkeeping from City legend Craig Nelson helped City to a 3-1 win on penalties.
City also won the last league match between the sides in April 2006 - a solitary goal from Alex Burns gave City the win at Dens Park under the watchful eye of newly appointed Manager Michael O'Neill.
