Stenhousemuir v Brechin City - Match Preview - By Steven Mew

City's League One campaign starts tomorrow as they travel to face newly-promoted Stenhousemuir at Ochilview Park.

After going through the entire Championship season without a win, Darren Dods and his squad will be desperate to get the league campaign off to a winning start.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
City's recent record against tomorrow's opponents makes pleasant reading, having gone the last six matches unbeaten against the Warriors, recording 3 wins and 3 draws.

The last meeting between the sides saw City clinch a play-off spot with a hard earned 1-1 draw at Ochilview in May last year. An early penalty converted by Alan Trouten was cancelled out by a header from Olly Shaw midway through the second half for the home side. City of course went on to win promotion to the Championship via the playoffs.

TEAM NEWS
Manager Darren Dods doesn't have his troubles to seek as he will be without the services of at least four players for the game tomorrow. Skipper Paul McLean picked up an injury in the match against Dundee and will be out for 4 - 6 weeks, but would have missed tomorrow's game through suspension anyway. Fellow defender Jordan Tapping will also be sidelined for a couple of weeks. His brother Callum Tapping will also sit the game out through suspension, which carried over from the end of last season.

The game has come too soon for defender Ryan McGeever who continues to make progress but remains a couple of weeks away from a return.

On a positive note - Sean Burns, Dougie Hill and Kalvin Orsi have all recovered from knocks and will be in contention. Andy Jackson, who made his long awaited return to action last weekend will also be available.

Manager Darren Dods said, "We are really looking forward to getting the season started. It seems a long time since our last league game against Queen of the South."

MATCH OFFICIALS
The man in the middle tomorrow will be Barry Cook - he will be assisted by David Roome and Mark McHendry. Cook last took charge of a City game in March where visitors Dunfermline ran out 3-0 winners at Glebe Park in a rescheduled Championship fixture. A hat-trick for Nicky Clark did the damage that evening.
