Brechin City v Stranraer - Match Preview - By Steven Mew

City welcome Stranraer to Glebe Park tomorrow hoping to build on a recent run of four matches without defeat.

TEAM NEWS
City continue to be without the injured Dene Shields, whilst central defender Dougie Hill is still struggling. Otherwise, everyone else is available including skipper Paul McLean who made the bench last weekend following 2 months on the sidelines. Subject to registration being completed, there could be a new loan signing amongst the squad.

Manager Darren Dods said, "We felt we could have done better at Station Park, especially after getting in front in the first half - but Forfar fought back and we had to settle for a draw. We're looking forward to playing Stranraer having not done so last season. They've found points hard to come by on the road so hopefully, in their third journey to Angus already this season, we'll see this sequence continue."

Striker Isaac Layne, who was with City last season, will be amongst the Stranraer ranks making the long journey north.

MATCH OFFICIALS
The match referee for the fixture tomorrow is John McKendrick - he will be assisted by Gordon Crawford and Michael MacDermid. McKendrick last took charge of a City game towards the end of last season as we went down 4-0 to Dunfermline Athletic at East End Park.

LAST TIME OUT
Last Saturday City faced their 3rd local derby of the season with a point on the road against Forfar Athletic. Loanee Callum Hendry has given City the lead after 17 minutes however Loons skipper Michael Travis popped up to rescue a point for the home side deep into the second half.

Our opponents Stranraer, meanwhile, slumped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat at home to an in-form East Fife outfit.

LAST MEETING
The two sides last met at Glebe Park in April 2017 which resulted in a goalless draw. It was an encounter devoid of compelling goalmouth action but the point gained was crucial for City who would go on to clinch a playoff spot and subsequent promotion.
